About Joe Versikaitis

Born in Venezuela, South America and Resides with his wife Michele in Calgary, Alberta

“ It's not just about sports art but more so creating an illusion of an athlete's moment in time.”

After years of rendering sports art and photography, Joe Versikaitis efforts will continue to focus on the development of todays sought after high profile players with the highest quality and value of sport artwork for the world memorabilia market.

Whether it’s a goalie making a game winning save or the riveting moment before a quarterback throws the ball, Joe Versikaitis strives to reveal the intricate relationship between a person and their sports habitats.

“ The notions of sports portraitures are my interpretation, my inspiration and my passion of an athlete portrait. Working from game experiences to my canvas I explore what a sport portrait is. This exhibition includes traditional acrylic paintings with a twist of realism to investigate and push the boundaries of the portrait. “

"I would like to Thank the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum for putting up with my work for the past 9 month! What a great opportunity for the Versikaitis - The Art of Sport.

I would like to thank all the people that attended the exhibit  to show their support and I hope that all of you enjoyed viewing the renderings but more so appreciated the preserved sports history the museum has to offer. ".....

This is the after shot...Not a good thing to do to someone who is very superstitious. You'll have to go to Blog with Alberta Sport Artist Joe Versikaitis to read The Kidd and me

the Notions of Sports Portraitures

I would like to Thank the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame for allowing me this great opportunity to show case my work to the good folks of Red Deer and surrounding areas. This by far is one of the greatest moments in my art career!

I would also like to thank Sean Bell from Cam Clark Ford for the great support and sponsorship. With your help we are going to help a few kids play a sport, learn a musical instrument or learn to dance. There are so many things that KidSport supports in our communities.
